Summer of Service

What will you build this summer?

Apply for Habitat’s “Summer of Service” and build:

  • Your skills
  • Your resume
  • Your network
  • Your community
  • Your biceps and/or tan!
Habitat for Humanity of Martin County invites students and recent graduates age 16-24 to join us for our new “Summer of Service” program. Participants can choose either Construction or Deconstruction as their focus, and build their hands-on skills while gaining leadership skills, team work opportunities, and building their network.

This is a great way to stay busy this summer while adding non-profit experience to your resume and meeting lots of great people in the community.

Summer of Service volunteer commitment

Work week is Tuesday-Saturday each week from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

  • Commit to working with your team throughout the summer (participants will be allowed the equivalent of 5 days off)
  • Actively participate (and learn) in the construction of homes or the deconstruction of homes with other volunteers and Habitat staff
  • Provide your own lunch, we will have water on site
  • Maintain a positive attitude and volunteer spirit

When summer temperatures climb over 100 degrees, site work will stop for the day.
Note: This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity.

What will you gain?

  • Construction or Deconstruction skills
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Great team work experience
  • Non-profit experience for your resume
